Plans and billing
Start for free with the Sandbox. Add Live for real time, Historical for the past, or both.
The plans
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Sandbox | Free | The stream delayed by 10 minutes and the last 7 days of history, to try the API |
| Live | Monthly subscription | The real-time stream. Does not include history |
| Historical | One-time purchase, lifetime access | All available history, back to around 2011 depending on the instrument, and every history added later: queries, exports, and subscriptions that start in the past. Without Live, the stream stays delayed by 10 minutes |
The two paid plans stack: with Live and Historical, you get real time and the full history. The exact limits of each combination (connections, subscriptions, compute budget…) are on the Limits page.
With the Live plan alone, history queries, exports and from: {"time": …} subscriptions are rejected (403 FORBIDDEN), including over the Sandbox’s 7 days. Indicators computed since the start of the session or the week work normally, and resuming after a disconnect is still included.
With the Historical plan alone, the stream keeps the Sandbox limits: delayed by 10 minutes, 1 connection, 2 subscriptions, 1 custom configuration.
For real time, you also need an fc_live_ key. A test key (fc_test_) is always limited to Sandbox rights.
Buying
You buy plans from your account page. Before you pay, the account page asks which country you are billed in: it sets the currency and the payment provider. When your connection’s location and your browser’s language agree, the country is already filled in; otherwise (VPN, travel), you pick it yourself.
Access is activated a few moments after the payment is confirmed, with nothing to do on your side: back on the account page, the plan shows as active as soon as the confirmation comes in. If you buy Live while connections are open, they switch to real time automatically: each subscription receives a reset (reason entitlement_changed) followed by a new snapshot.
Price, currency and provider by country
Prices in euros include tax: the amount you see is the amount you pay. Prices in US dollars exclude tax: Creem adds your country’s taxes on the payment page.
| Billing country | Currency | Provider | Taxes | After payment |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Metropolitan France and Corsica | Euro | Stripe | French VAT included | Invoice issued through Stripe, Stripe customer portal |
| Rest of Europe (EU, Switzerland, UK…), French overseas territories included | Euro | Creem, merchant of record | Your country’s taxes included | Creem receipt, Creem customer portal |
| Every other country | US dollar | Creem, merchant of record | Your country’s taxes added at checkout | Creem receipt, Creem customer portal |
With Creem, Creem sells you the plan as merchant of record: it calculates and remits your country’s taxes and issues the receipt.
An account stays with the provider of its first payment, so invoices, subscription and payment method all stay in one place. After that, you can only change your billing country to another country served by the same provider. Moving to a country served by the other provider is not possible.
The prices of each plan, in each zone, are read directly from the payment providers and published by GET /v1/pricing, with no authentication: this is what the account page shows, and what the checkout charges.
| Field | Content |
|---|---|
country | The country of your connection according to its IP address, to preselect the billing country, or null when unknown. |
europe | The billing countries of the Europe zone (two-letter ISO codes). Metropolitan France (and Corsica), code FR, is a zone of its own; the French overseas departments and territories, which have their own codes (GF, GP, MQ, RE, YT, PM, BL, MF), belong to the Europe zone; any other country is in the world zone. |
prices | For each plan (offer: live or history) and each zone (zone: france, europe or world): the provider (provider: stripe or creem), the amount (amount, in the smallest unit of the currency, cents for example), the currency (currency: EUR or USD) and taxIncluded (true in euros, taxes included; false in dollars, taxes added at checkout). |
No refunds
Since access starts as soon as you pay, no payment is refunded, unless a mandatory legal provision says otherwise, in particular the legal conformity guarantee (terms of sale, section 9). The right of withdrawal is covered in section 6 of the terms of sale.
In the European Union, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal. To get immediate access, you must expressly waive it before paying: the account page asks you to tick a box with the text below. Until the box is ticked, the checkout cannot start.
| Offer | Checkbox text |
|---|---|
| Live | I request immediate access to the Live offer (monthly subscription). I acknowledge that access starts as soon as payment is made, that I thereby expressly waive my 14-day right of withdrawal, and that payments made are non-refundable. |
| Historical | I request immediate access to the Historical offer (one-time purchase, lifetime access to the historical API). I acknowledge that access starts as soon as payment is made, that I thereby expressly waive my 14-day right of withdrawal, and that this payment is non-refundable. |
Managing your subscription
Everything happens on your account page: cancel Live in one click, or open your provider’s customer portal (Stripe or Creem) for your invoices and payment method.
- Cancelling Live: no further payment is taken and you keep real time until the end of the period you already paid for. After that, the stream goes back to delayed. Until then, you can undo the cancellation from the account page.
- Failed payment: you keep access while the payment is retried. Access is removed if the subscription ends up cancelled or stays unpaid.
- Historical: the purchase is final and access never expires. Your compute budget and export volume renew every month.
A granted refund or a chargeback filed with your bank removes the corresponding access.
